Accommodation and Wifi

Dormitory style rooms with Wifi available.  Hotel stays nearby the volunteer site are also available.

Accommodation and amenities provided for the guest volunteers are listed below.
  1. Shared room setting with either 2 beds or 3 beds. Bathrooms are shared by 2 persons per bathroom which are not connected, but located in the same building.
  2. The rooms are allocated on a gender basis, while being accommodative to families with children. Bedding and linen are provided and replaced with clean ones on a weekly basis for the guests.
  3. Each guest will have a small open cabinet which he or she can use to keep clothing and gear during the stay. While the rooms can be locked your gear is your own responsibility.
  4. Belipola Analog Forest is located in a village in the Uva province of Sri Lanka that is 10km to the closest large town which is Bandarawela. There are busses every 2 hrs and it is not a secluded village.
  5. There is a well stocked stocked local store to buy any provisions just 400 meters from the Analog Forest
  6. From Bandarawela you can catch a connection via bus or train to any location in Sri Lanka as it is considered a main transit hub.
  7. There is easy access to several tourist destinations both in the Uva and the Central Provinces. Some are listed here : Ella / Horton Plains Cloud Forest and Strict Nature Reserve Bambarakanda and Diyaluma ( tallest waterfalls ) / Kandy / Nuwara Eliya to list a few
  8. There is plenty of tea trails and village style hiking routes mapped in close proximity to the Analog Forest as well as the river that flows below the property
  9. There is pure spring water as well as deep well water distributed to the living areas, bathrooms and kitchen. If there is a severe drought condition prevailing we will have to ration some of this supply with informing you of access to the river to bathe in.
Meals
  1. We offer BnB basis or full board option for guest volunteers
  2. Based on the meal plan the guests volunteers can either have breakfast only or all 3 meals at the kitchen and dining area.
  3. Breakfast @ 8.30 am/ Lunch @ 2 pm / Dinner @ 7.30 pm
  4. All meals provided at the Analog Forest are Vegetarian, with the egg option. Only If it is special request, at a surcharge we will cook select meat for the gust volunteers
  5. The vegetables and fruits are sourced from small farm owners in the village and are mostly Organic, with staple foods such as rice and yams served with freshly cooked locdishes that are considered delicacies.
  6. All food is cooked using the traditional spices, as well as made to be a bit spicy with locally grown peppers. However if requested we can accommodate non spicy food for the guest volunteers
  7. There is a water filter that can be utilized by anyone to purify the water flowing from our taps.

      This program is best suited for volunteers who are passionate about making a lasting impact in the community through teaching English. Volunteers who are most suitable for this program would be certified teachers with at least 2 years of experience. As volunteers will be working alongside our local teaching staff, they will have to fulfill the selection criteria.
