Position Title: Disability Support & Inclusive Education Volunteer

Daily Tasks & Typical Schedule:

  • Assisting special educators during classroom activities (pre-school, junior, pre-vocational).
  • Supporting therapy sessions (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy) under professional supervision.
  • Helping with vocational training workshops (art & craft, block printing, diya making, packaging, etc.).
  • Supporting extracurricular activities, storytelling, games, and creative learning.
  • Assisting during events, celebrations, outreach programs, and community awareness activities.
  • Helping with basic documentation, learning materials, and classroom organization.

Skills or Experience Required:

  • Previous experience with people with special education, therapy services, vocational skills, or community inclusion is required. Being a student in the academics in a related field can serve as an alternative.
  • Background in education, psychology, social work, therapy, or special education is an advantage.
  • Patience, empathy, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity are essential.

Supervision & Teamwork:

  • Volunteers work under close supervision of special educators, therapists, and program coordinators.
  • Strong team-based environment with teachers, therapists, vocational trainers, and local volunteers.
  • Minimum age: 18 years
  • Language: Basic English required; Hindi is an advantage but not mandatory
  • Physical demands: Moderate (assisting children, standing, light movement activities)
  • Qualifications: relevant academic or professional background is a required
  • Minimum duration: 2 weeks
  • Maximum duration: 12 weeks (longer stays considered on request)
  • Start dates: Flexible; volunteers can join year-round
  • Commitment: Monday–Friday (weekends free unless events are scheduled)
