In this project, volunteers will actively participate and lead the following activities:

  •  Assisting in the daily care of elephants, including feeding, cleaning, and bathing routines.
  • Preparing and distributing food for elephants and other rescued animals.
  • Maintaining and cleaning enclosures to ensure a safe, hygienic environment.
  • Supporting habitat enrichment activities to encourage natural behaviors.
  • Helping plant trees and vegetation as part of reforestation and habitat restoration.
  • Assisting with educational tours, helping visitors understand ethical animal care.
  • Collaborating with staff to promote awareness about wildlife conservation and the dangers of animal exploitation.

The program is based at the Wildlife Rescue Centre in Phetchaburi Province, approximately 160 km south of Bangkok and about 30 km from Hua Hin. Surrounded by lush forests and local communities, this location provides a peaceful and immersive environment for volunteers to experience authentic Thai culture while contributing to wildlife conservation.

  • Environment: Rural countryside, tropical climate, near Kaeng Krachan National Park
Volunteers will need to arrive in Thailand 1 day prior to their assigned orientation day. After you have registered for the program, please book your flights to arrive at either Suvarnabhumi International Airport or Don Mueang International Airport both located in Bangkok, Thailand. Your airport pick-up is included in your Program Fee. When you arrive at the airport, a member of the Volunteer to the World staff will be there to greet you. From your point of arrival, you will be brought to your homestay or hostel in Bangkok. Your accommodation is covered by your Program Fee and includes the night before your program orientation. Orientation is hosted by our local team in Thailand on the morning of your chosen start date and covers everything you need to know for your volunteer program in Thailand– an introduction to Thailand, Thai customs, language training details, rules and expectations, safety, travel opportunities in Thailand, and an introduction to your project and placement. Once your orientation is complete, you’ll be ready to begin your volunteer mission!
